Vasileios Papadimas graduated from the Law School of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (1963) and after obtaining the license to practice, he enrolled in the Thessaloniki Bar Association (1966).
During 1965-1968 he studied as a postgraduate student of the 'Deutsche Akademische Austausch Dienst' (DAAD), he continued his postgraduate studies at the Law School of the University of Hamburg. He worked there, under the supervision of Professors Konrad Zweigert and Paul-Heinrich Neuhaus, on his doctoral thesis in the field of Private International Law on the topic: "Die Formder Eheschliessung im deutschen materiellen und Kollisionsrecht", (The type of marriage in German substantive and private international law), obtaining the title of Doctor of Law (Juris Doctor) at the University of Hamburg (1968).
After returning to Greece in the same year, he actively practiced law, gradually organizing his office with a team of associates. In tandem with his intense professional occupation, he was also involved in the compiling of his docent-thesis, under the supervision of the late Professor Dimitrios Evrigenis, on the topic "The Pre-Judicial Issue in Private International Law", which he completed in 1983. He was elected and nominated as a docent in 1983. That same year he was promoted to a Greek Supreme Court lawyer.
In addition to his professional and scientific activity, his social presence and volunteer work have also been of great significance. Between 1975 and 2007 he was a member of the Board of Directors of YMCA, initially as Secretary General, then as Vice-President and finally for a decade as President with a rich and distinguished work. In 2014 he was awarded by the Philoptochos Association of Men of Thessaloniki for his whole social, professional and scientific contribution.
His professional activity, as a practicing lawyer for nearly five decades, focused primarily on the field of private law (and international private law), handling cases in all the areas of civil law (in particular civil liability cases and real estate management cases), as well as labor and commercial law cases (in particular cases of Greek and foreign commercial companies).
His experience and expertise in corporate matters, real estate (transactions and management) as well as investments is particularly important. His current role is, following his retirement, advisory and consultative especially in these areas.
